  • Stonewall Inn (West Village) — The most historic queer bar in America. Drinks, dancing, and history.
  • Henrietta Hudson (West Village) — One of NYC's longest-running lesbian bars.
  • The Cubbyhole (West Village) — Iconic tiny lesbian bar covered in hanging decorations.
  • Julius' (West Village) — One of the oldest gay bars in NYC, site of a 1966 "sip-in" protest.
  • House of Yes (Bushwick) — Queer-friendly performance space and nightclub.
  • 3 Dollar Bill (East Williamsburg) — Large queer venue for parties and shows.
  • C'mon Everybody (Bed-Stuy) — Intimate queer bar with great music and drag shows.

Community Centers

  • The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center (West 13th Street) — The Center is the hub for NYC's LGBTQ+ community. Support groups, events, health services, and cultural programming.
  • Ali Forney Center — Housing and support for homeless LGBTQ+ youth.
  • Callen-Lorde Community Health Center — LGBTQ+-focused healthcare including trans care, PrEP, mental health.

Healthcare

  • Callen-Lorde — Comprehensive LGBTQ+ healthcare in Chelsea and Brooklyn.
  • Apicha Community Health Center — LGBTQ+-focused care, especially serving AAPI and POC communities.
  • Mount Sinai Center for Transgender Medicine and Surgery — Leading trans healthcare and surgery program.

Events

  • NYC Pride March — Held each June, one of the largest Pride events in the world.
  • DragCon NYC — Annual RuPaul's Drag Race convention.
  • Bushwig — Annual drag and queer music festival in Brooklyn.
  • Queer Liberation March — An alternative, more activist-focused Pride march held the same weekend.

New York City is the birthplace of the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement, and queer people are visible in every borough.
